The short version

College Confused is a static content site — guides and articles, nothing more. There are no accounts, no forms to fill out, no ads, and no cross-site tracking — just cookie-free, privacy-respecting traffic counting. It's a free nonprofit resource, and we don't collect anything from you to run it.

What we don't have

There's no login, no signup, no data entry of any kind on this site. Beyond the aggregate traffic counts described below, we don't store information about who visits or what they read. If you've used College Confused before and remember an in-browser toolkit that saved your timeline, scholarships, or essay drafts to your device — that tool has retired. Its guidance now lives here as plain guides, and nothing about your college process is stored anywhere by us.

Traffic counting

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate. It is cookie-free: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you across other websites. What we see are totals — page views, referrers, and country-level counts — never who you are.

Children's privacy

College Confused is designed for students 13 and up. Because we collect nothing from anyone, there is no personal information from any user — of any age — on our servers.
